Parents, teachers and members of the community on Tuesday celebrated the first step in the path to college for 10 Cartersville Middle School students during the annual GateKey scholarship signing ceremony.

"This is very special," smiled sixth-grader Zarriah Turner. "You have to try very hard in school and not make a fool of yourself because in life it's very important to go to college so you can have a good career and have a great life."
