Georgia Games Cycling Road Race on Saturday

The Georgia Games on Saturday is hosting a cycling road race circuit course that will travel through Bartow County.

Starting at Mount Pleasant Road in Fairmount, the course curves southward into Bartow County along Calico Valley Road, Tennessee Highway, through White and riding back northward along Richards Road.

The course circuit is 16 miles and each division will race one to five laps. The following are the divisions in which participants will compete:

Men's Pro, Men Cat 3, Men Cat 4, Men Cat 5; Women 1/2/3, Women Cat 4; Juniors 10-12, Juniors 13-14, Juniors 15-16, Juniors 17-18; Masters 35+ and Masters 45+.

The first group of racers, the Men's Cat 4 division, will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Men's Cat 5 division at 8:40 a.m. and the Women's Cat 4 division at 8:50. From 8:55 until 11 a.m. the juniors will be racing at 10-minute increments. Starting again at 11 a.m. the Men Pro 1/2 will start followed by Men Cat 3, Master 45+, Master 35+ and Women 1/2/3 with each division starting at increments of 10 minutes. The final group, the Women 1/2/3 division, will start at 11:40 a.m.
