Mr. Glenn Raymond Bailey, 83, of 1272 Hall Station Road, Adairsville, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born in Floyd County, May 10, 1928, son of the late Raymond and Bessie Milsap Bailey. Mr. Bailey was of the Baptist faith and had attended Snow Springs Baptist Church. He was a pulp wood cutter, farmer and raised poultry. He traded in antiques and was a caretaker for his two sons and wife. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Clayton Bailey; a son, Dale Bailey; and four brothers, Clyde, Doris, Dennis and Carl Bailey.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Jerry Townsend and Kay and Troy Wilson, all of Adairsville; a son, Dwayne "Tiny" Bailey of Adairsville; four grandchildren, Jeremy Townsend, Cody Hammonds, Autumn Barton, and Amanda Townsend; one great-granddaughter, Lily Ana Townsend; two sisters, Lorene Adcock of Adairsville, and Vera (Jimmy) Smith of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews also survive,

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, with Rev. John Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers include Calvin Howell, Doyle Smith, Kevin Barton, Brandon Stokes, Thomas Randolph and Ronald Tanner. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Hammonds, Zack Haire and Andy Snyder.

The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
