Mr. Harold Wise Sr., age 96, of 75 Shaw Street, Kingston, died Saturday, June 25, 2011. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the New Shiloh Baptist Church, Kingston. Interment will follow in the Kingston Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the resident.

Harold "Coke" Wise Sr. son of the late George Wise and Lottie Wells, born May 1, 1915, in Kingston.

He was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church.

After 40 years of service to the railroad, Harold opened a cafe and was well known for his delicious fried chicken. He was also known for his annual production of sausage. He loved working in his garden and always generously shared his crop.

His knowledge of local history provided information for a soon-to-be published book connecting Kingston to the First Lady of the United States.

Harold was united in marriage to the late Ezella Waters Wise on Dec. 11, 1933. To this union two children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Sarah Frances Wise Lee (James "Chick" Lee), a loving and devoted companion, Mary Hill Young; brothers, Elbert Wise ( Agnes), Alonzo Wise and Charlie Wise; sisters, Loretta Lane, Hattie Long, Willie Bell Moore, Katherine Wise and Roberta Wise, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephew, other relatives and friends.
