Mr. Smith was born May 1, 1961 in Bartow County, son of Henry Lee Smith III and Sara Dianne Jenkins Smith. He was employed by Cleveland Electric where he was a Foreman and was a member of the IBEW union. Lee loved Alabama football and spending time outdoors on the lake with family and friends. He also loved good food and good times.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Jenkins Smith; son, James David "JR" Thomas III; parents, Henry and Dianne Smith; sisters, Mary Victoria DeLoach, and husband Eric, Teresa Ann Williamson, and husband Joel; nieces and nephews, Ansley Tucker, Diamond Tucker and Brandon Dial; aunts, Patsy Tibbetts, and husband Jerry, Mary Jane Nelson, and husband Jim; special friends, Jim & Mary Ann Blackstock, Sidney Lee.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m., in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Dan Smith, Jim Blackstock, Todd Olson, David Watkins, Greg Tibbetts, Troy Ward.
