He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia K. Strain; parents, John Wesley and Clara Strain; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Agnes Strain, John Strain, Bill Strain and Joyce Strain.
Survivors include his daughter, Christi Tralle of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Colin and Beth Strain of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Zachary Charles, Brandon and James Strain, Whitney Tralle, Hali Hamilton, Cameron and Kendall Tralle, Matthew and Michael Strain and Braxton Sneddon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Myron and Marilyn Strain of Canton, Bob Strain of Cartersville, Joe and Kathleen Strain of Marietta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ron Boggs of Dallas, Helen and Dick Haynie of Wildwood; sisters-in-law, Elise Strain and Dora Strain; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 12 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dan Strain and Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until hour of service.
