Inmate caught attempting to escape county jail

An inmate at the Bartow County Jail has been charged with escape and criminal damage to government property after attempting to escape on Thursday.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Brian Troy Aberle was spotted by contractors on the roof of the jail at approximately 11 a.m. He escaped to the roof during recreation time with other inmates. Deputies responded to the roof where Aberle was arrested without further incident. Aberle was charged with criminal damage to government property for cutting his jail issued uniform on the protective wire/cables on the roof.
