Mr. James Edward Couch, 70, of White passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at his residence following a brief illness.

Born in Bartow County, June 9, 1940, he was the son of the late James Thomas Couch Sr. and the late Tinnie Byars Couch. Preceding him in death along with his parents are brothers, Vernon Eugene Couch and Ricky Joe Couch; and one niece, Pam Couch.

James attended the Church at Liberty Square and was owner/operator of Couch pest control. He enjoyed talking about the Bible and football. He was loved by many, friendly to all and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine Waddell Couch; his brothers, Virgil, Clyde and Ernest Couch, all of Cartersville, James Thomas Couch Jr. of Canton; his sisters, Virginia Couch, Florence Couch Proctor and Marie Couch Tapley of Cartersville; his sisters-in-law, Jean Couch of Cartersville, Mary Couch Owens of Acworth; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Jacob King officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest Couch, Steve Couch, Allen Owens, Doyle Wayne Proctor, Shannon Tapley and Jody Collins. These gentlemen are asked to meet at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation.
