Mrs. Layton was born Nov. 30, 1941, in Bartow County, the daughter of the late, Harley and Kathaleen (Johnsey) Findley and was a member of First Baptist Church of Emerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Martha Alice Taylor.
Surviving is her husband, John Layton of Emerson; children, Amy J. Layton of Rome, Scott and Jennifer Layton of Emerson; two granddaughters, Averie and Kendall Layton, sisters Judy Heath of Cartersville, Patsy Bennett of Center, and Peggy Prather of Acworth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Emerson with Rev. Terry Layton officiating.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Emerson.
