Mrs. Striplin was born May 26, 1931, in Bartow County, a daughter of the late John Abram Stegall Sr. and Lois Crow Stegall. She was a member of the Rowland Springs Baptist Church and was a retired corporate secretary for the Thompson Weinman Company. One of her favorite hobbies was traveling.
Survivors include her husband, W.R. Striplin; her children, Greg and Lisa McDonald of White and Joan and Rick Moore, also of White; her stepsons, Bob Striplin and Steve Striplin; sister and brother-in-law, Sara Jane and Dick Baney of Cartersville; grandchildren, Jill and Heath King, Joseph Moore and Justin Moore, Jarrett McDonald, Josh McDonald, Jenna and Mike Graham and Scott McDonald; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stegall and Mary Anna Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Phil McDonald; and a brother, John A. Stegall Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, from the Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jarrett McDonald, Josh McDonald, Joseph Moore, Justin Moore, Scott McDonald, Heath King and Mike Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Young at Heart Sunday School Class at the Rowland Springs Baptist Church.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
