Born Nov. 22, 1938, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Henry Fletcher Hatfield and the late Sarah Lucile Sanford Hatfield. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Donald Hatfield, Martin Edward Hatfield and Norman Doyle Hatfield.
A devoted servant of God, Jo Anne was a member and treasurer of Trinity Church of God. She loved going to church, tending her flowers and gardening, and spending time at their cabin in Blue Ridge. She also loved her home and family and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jo Anne had also retired from Kroger Grocery Co. with more than 30 years of service.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, George Crawley Dye; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Gay and J.T. Mullinax; her grandchildren, Adam Tyler Williams and Ashley Blythe Dover; her great-grandchildren, Tess and Jace Dover; her sisters-in-law, Grace Hatfield, Carol Hatfield, and Pat Taff; her brothers-in-law and their wives, Bobby and Wanda Dye and Clayton and Ann Dye; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Quinn Hood and Jean Armstrong.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Cecil Waters and Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Church of God Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Burl Dye, Fisher Law, Neil Hudson, Chad Dover, Seth Alexander and Chris Kelley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Martin Hatfield and Fletcher Law. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
