John Miller Endsley passed away March 28, 2011, in Atlanta, after a long-term illness. He passed peacefully, and surrounded in the preceding days by loved ones and family members. An Atlanta native, John lived in Brookhaven as a child, graduated from Cross Keys High School and Georgia State University. He pursued a career in the computer and software industry and retired from his position in management at Fourth Generation Software.

John enjoyed traveling, sailing, tennis and classical music and spending time with his grandchildren. His optimistic nature will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Lynne Endsley; children, Melanie Endsley and Lauren Endsley Gill; step-children Melissa Laughner, Amy Morris, and Matthew Morris; five grandchildren; and siblings Oliver Houston Endsley III and Libby Endsley Purvis. John is the son of Houston and Mary Endsley, deceased, of Atlanta.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home located at 812 West Commerce St., Greenville, AL 36037, 334- 382-2667. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. for family and 6 p.m. for friends, and a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12 p.m. Central Time at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with burial immediately following.

John was an active member of Jehovah's Witnesses, who have chosen to honor him with a Memorial Service held Saturday, April 2, at Cartersville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. After the Memorial Service, the family will be receiving guests at the Civic Center on 435 West Main St., Cartersville, GA 30120, 770- 387- 5625.
