Lady Canes win, Lady Tigers fall in region soccer

Abby Ingram scored in the game’s 34th minute for Cartersville, and Sydney James made it hold up as she didn’t allow a single Gordon Central shot to find net during their game Thursday.

The Lady Purple Hurricanes did not score another goal but still walked away with a 1-0 victory.

“Scoring is still a mystery to us,” coach Roger Lowe said. “But we’ll get the scoring mystery solved.”

Ingram scored her goal on an assist from Stefanie Will.

Adairsville 2

Adairsville gave up three first-half goals to Coahulla Creek, and came up one goal short in a 3-2 loss Thursday night.

Lance Hall, assistant coach, said the Lady Tigers had their shots on goal but couldn’t find the net often enough.

“We had 24 shots and they had five,” Hall said. “

Coahulla Creek scored in the 10th minute of the game on a 35-yard free kick, for a 1-0 lead.

It then scored on a breakaway two minutes later and concluded its scoring in the 34th minute, up 3-0.
