RELAY FOR LIFE — Bartow County’s Relay for Life event will be Friday, Sept. 10, and Saturday, Sept. 11, at Dellinger Park in Cartersville. Along with entertainment throughout the night, Friday’s festivities will include be a survivor’s reception from 5 to 7 p.m.; opening ceremony and survivor’s lap and caregivers’ lap at 7 p.m.; and a luminary service at 9:30 p.m. The event will wrap up Saturday at 9 a.m. with the closing ceremonies. DANCE CLASS — Thanks to a grant received this spring by the Cartersville Service League, Steps of Faith Dance Company will offer a dance class to exceptional students ages 5 to 20 for free. The basic movement and ballet class, known as Karina’s Class, is for youths with disabilities ranging from autism to Down syndrome, wheelchair-bound children and those with walkers. Class size will be limited to 10 children. Classroom assistants will be on hand to assist. ALLATOONA PASS BATTLEFIELD TOUR — Led by two Georgia Park Rangers, the Allatoona Pass Battlefield Tour will cover all the important areas of the battlefield including the original Star Fort where the heaviest fighting took place. The free tour will take place Sunday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. There are no onsite facilities and the trail is of moderate difficulty and about 1 mile long.
