Lula Pinyan, 88, of Shadow Lane, Cartersville, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011.

Mrs. Pinyan was born March 31, 1923, in Bartow County, the daughter of the late, Adrian Ivy and Bessie (Blalock) Dinning, was retired from EZ Mills and was of the Baptist faith. She loved animals and taking care of people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Clay Pinyan; and her brother-in-law, Burl Cagle.

Surviving is her sister, Earline Cagle of Cartersville; her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Jo Dinning of Cartersville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard Lee and Joyce Pinyan of Acworth; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Etowah Valley Humane Society.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Cagle, Fulton Rice, Joseph Rice, Brandon Cagle, Ricky Darnell and Trent Williams.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
