To kick off the Bartow County Library System's children and teen summer reading programs on Friday, the three library branches hosted renowned magician Ken Scott.

A two-time winner of the Greater Atlanta Magician of the year award, Scott says he has entertained more than 1 million people with his programs, being featured on CNN Headline News and performing yearly in Hollywood at The World Famous Magic Castle, home to the Academy of Magical Arts. He also has performed multiple times at the White House.

The next event for the summer reading program is Pint Sized Polkas, an interactive polka event featuring musician Mike Schneider. It will be held Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Cartersville branch.
