Upon arrival, the deputy met with the complainant, who stated he just had finished gassing up his motor home at the gas island when a white male subject, about 35 years old, 6 feet tall and 170 pounds with brown hair, approached him waiving a $100 bill. He said the male told him there was another white male in the parking lot giving away $100 bills because he had won the lottery. The complainant followed the subject between two semi-trucks parked in front of the gas island where he saw a second white male subject, approximately 50 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with shaggy grayish blonde hair, with “messed up teeth,” standing and waiving.
He said the second subject had a box set up with a card game inside. He played the game and eventually won $400.
He said the second subject offered to double the bet again and asked that the complainant hand over his two rings on his hands, his watch on his wrist and any cash in his pocket as a bet. The complainant agreed.
He said a third subject, a white male, 40 years old, approximately 6 feet, 6 inches tall, 250 pounds, with brown hair, wearing a blue jacket and pants, stepped between he and the first two subjects. The complainant said the third subject told him he worked at Pilot and there was a problem with illegal gambling on the property. The two other subjects then grabbed the complainant’s property and money and began running away toward the truck washing area of the parking lot.
