A man giving his friend a ride to work on a motor scooter told a Bartow County Sheriff's deputy he knew his license was suspended, but didn't think it included driving a scooter. Andre Levesque was initially stopped in the area of Highway 411 and Peeples Valley Road for transporting a passenger without a helmet.

Levesque told the deputy he was giving his friend a ride, and since it was a short distance, he didn't think a helmet was necessary. The deputy ran a check through dispatch for both men, with the passenger returning valid; however, Levesque's came back with a suspended license.

He was arrested and taken to the Bartow County jail. The passenger was given a citation for no helmet.

Woman's identity used for hospital stay

An Adairsvile woman said someone used her name and date of birth during two recent hospital visits.

The report states that a Bartow County deputy arrived at 4735 Joe Frank Harris Parkway in response to identity theft. The complainant told the deputy she received two hospital bills, one from Redmond Regional Medical Center emergency room for $520 and one from Gordon Medical Center for $347.

She wanted to report the incidents, but hold on to the bills.
