A blaze Friday morning in White leveled a barn, claiming livestock inside.
Bartow County Fire Department Capt. Adam Blair said stations were dispatched to the 700 block of Spring Place Road at 10:38 a.m. after a neighbor called 911.
The barn was fully involved when crews arrived. Blair said two goats, one chicken and a calf inside died in the fire.
A cause was not determined and the structure was a total loss.
Numerous grass and woods fires popped up around Bartow Friday, including a larger fire caused by burning trash in Acworth near Chattahoochee Technical College.
With the onset of springlike weather and the threat of weekend rain, Blair said residents are working outdoors, clearing and burning debris, which may be behind the increase in the blazes.
