Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. McClure (M.D.) Davis was born on May 7, 1927, in Cassville to the late Oscar and Carrie Mae Davis. He was the fourth of six children.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Jamie Lee, Elizabeth, Oscar Jr. (Willie Row), Dovie Johnson; and two grandchildren, Sherry Ann Davis and Tommy Davis.
McClure Davis, affectionately called MD, loved all people. In 1947 he married his sweetheart, Mattie Marchann Barnes, and from this union came three daughters, Patricia Kent, Lillie Florence Davis (BeeBee) of Atlanta and Shirley Ann (Gary) Collins of Union City.
He leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters; one sister, Mildred (Hilmus) Edward; one Aunt Cornia; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers a donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
