Melanie was born July 19, 1972, in Cobb County, the daughter of the late Eugene and Sharon Hyatte.
Survivors include a son, Dustin Lewis; sister, Amy Hester; aunts, Sue Howard and Sandra Mullinax; and a niece, Summer Faber.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Interment will follow.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
