Two Atlanta area men were arrested on Monday afternoon after passing counterfeit money at Walmart. Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested Derrick Lakeith Lee, 27, of Stone Mountain and Vincent Sulay Boyd, 29, of Atlanta.
Both were charged with two counts of first degree forgery. They were later released after posting $5,000 bond for the charges and will await a court date in Bartow County Superior Court.
According to officials, further investigation revealed that the two had also passed false money on Christmas Eve. The total counterfeit money recovered was $5,800.
The Sheriff's office contacted the U.S. Secret Service in Atlanta. They are assisting in the local investigation and recovery of counterfeit funds.
