Early Saturday morning the Bartow County Sheriff's Office located the body of a missing Rome woman found off the embankment of U.S. Highway 411 in Bartow County.

The woman was identified as Nancy Pension, 43, from Rome. Pension was reported missing earlier Thursday.

According to Sgt. Jonathan Rogers of the BCSO, a friend of Pension called dispatch early Saturday around 8:33 a.m. The friend was traveling eastbound to Cartersville -- near Hardin Bridge Road -- and noticed tire tracks going off the road down an embankment. A BCSO deputy arrived on the scene and found Pension and her wreaked red Kia Sportage.

"It appeared that her car had run off the road," Rogers said. As of this time Pension's death is being declared an accident.

Woman and husband report false robbery outside Taco Bell

Early Saturday around 1:12 a.m., a deputy traveled to Cartersville Medical to meet a woman who claimed she had been robbed in the parking lot of Taco Bell in Cartersville.

The woman told the deputy that she was waiting for her husband in the parking lot when a 30-year-old male opened the driver side door of the vehicle she was in and demanded money. According to the woman, the man had a knife and made a 2 inch cut on her left forearm. She said her husband -- who exited the Taco Bell -- yelled at the male, scaring the male away. The woman said she then drove herself to the hospital.

Her husband told the officer he exited the Taco Bell and saw a male wearing a mask and a hoodie in a struggle with his wife. He too said the male ran off when the husband yelled at him.

The deputy inspected the vehicle and saw no signs of blood. He consulted the woman again who admitted that she had cut herself in their room at Courtesy Inn. Her husband then told the deputy that she had cut herself after a verbal argument and that he only wanted to cover for her so she would not be detained for psychiatric evaluation.

The couple was placed under arrest for false report of a crime. The woman received eight stitches for her cut.
