Mrs. LaFluer was a member of Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church and was a devoted, loving and nurturing mother and grandmother. She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, working outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen D. Jackson; her sister, Lillian Jewell Fricks; and a brother, Joe Alfred Hilliard.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby Jones Jr. of Emerson and Gary (Kim) Jones of Kingston; her sisters, Mildred Pritchett of Cartersville, Pearl Cabe (Doyle) of Kingston and Geraldine Boswell of Emerson; her brother, Donald (Penny) Hilliard of Emerson; her grandchildren, Cody Allen Wesley Jones of Kingston, Daylan Matthew Jones of Kingston and Devan Marie Jones of Alabama; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. David Summey and Pastor Michael Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p. m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sam, Walter, Bob and Gene Hilliard, Dennis Lewis and Verley Jones. Gerald Adams and Henry Eugene Gilbert will serve as honorary pallbearers.
