“We just had a bunch of hits from the bottom of the order to help us,” head coach Colman Roberts said. “Lacey’s home run was big for us, too. We just were hitting today.”
Neither team did much offensively through the first four innings, but the Lady Wildcats made amends for that in the top of the fifth, when three Woodland runners crossed the plate.
Taylor Braselton opened the Lady Wildcats’ first run-producing inning with a powerful triple to left field. Bailey Roberts then drew a base on balls on four straight pitches that were thrown out of the strike zone.
Lacey Fritz sent both home when she powered a line drive over the left field wall to put Woodland up 3-0 on the evening.
