Odas Alton Kiser, 90, of Sunset Circle, Cartersville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011.

Mr. Kiser was born April 16, 1921 in Bartow County, the son of the late, Charley M. and Delia (Keith) Kiser. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II and was a survivor at D Day and the Normandy Invasion. He also was a retired letter carrier or the U.S. Post Office, a member of the Retired Men's Group, the American Legion Post 42, a member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 F & A M and Yaarab Shrine Temple. He was always an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Church Trustee.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Allyson Kiser, parents, four sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha Doss Kiser of Cartersville, son, William Alton Kiser of Cartersville and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Brown and Rev. Jody Orton officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with Military Rites.

The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Howren, Jerry Milam, Lamar Pinson, Larry Williams, Roy Edwards, Ron Green and Don Massey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Bartow Retired Men's Group.
