A third goat was kid-napped Monday.

The owner of livestock on Hamilton Crossing reported someone had taken a small goat from his property, the third incident in the past five weeks.

According to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office report, the three-week-old goat was removed from the fenced-in area. The owner said he checked the property and found all the gates secure and no holes in the fence.

He told deputies this was the third goat taken in five weeks, although the previous two were not reported stolen.

Car lost in fire

Cartersville Fire Department on Tuesday reported working a vehicle fire.

CFD station 1 responded to the blaze about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at 165 Cassville Road. The Buick Riviera was a total loss after an electrical malfunction sparked the fire, according to a CFD spokesman.

Thief runs up charges on Lowe’s card

A woman discovered quite the bill after a suspect stole her Lowe’s credit card.

According to a BCSO report, the woman said her card had been used seven times between Jan. 21 and Feb. 1 at the Lowe’s location in Cartersville. The charges totaled $1,382.45.

A person who had been staying at the woman’s home was named as a suspect because the person had a history of financial card fraud.
