Police catch bank robbery suspect

Cartersville Police Department officers arrested a man in an attempted bank robbery on U.S. Highway 41 near Grassdale Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to CPD, the United Community Bank at 1320 Joe Frank Harris Parkway was robbed just before 12:30 p.m. A male subject presented a note during the robbery, demanding money from bank tellers. An undetermined amount of money was taken and the suspect left the bank on foot with the money.

CPD and Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the area, and within minutes the suspect was located at the nearby QuickTrip gas station and was taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as Ivory Brooks, 46, of Cartersville and was arrested with charges pending.

Cartersville police are investigating the incident.
