Cartersville High School Principal Jay Floyd on Tuesday confirmed an announcement to faculty that he will resign from his position this summer.

He has served as CHS principal since 2004, previously holding the position of assistant principal as well as various positions with Dalton Public Schools.

In August, Floyd turned down the position of superintendent for the Chattooga County School system.

Floyd would not comment any further and said that “there’s nothing official.”
