Rape, homicide by vehicle cases among trials expected in superior court

When Bartow County Superior Court convenes Monday, a homicide by vehicle trial and rape case are among those expected to be heard first in Judge Scott Smith and Judge Carey Nelson’s courtroom.

District Attorney Rosemary Greene’s office released a list of those cases expected to sound first during jury trials.

For Smith’s courtroom D, the following, in no particular order, are expected to be heard:

• Marjeanna Gwen Bryant — driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

• Jensen Clifford Hovarth — two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of obstruction of an officer, possession of a knife during commission of a felony, possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth by ingestion, possession of drug-related objects and reckless conduct.

• Timothy Michael Van Hoose — three counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, six counts of serious injury by vehicle, three counts of driving under the influence, following too closely and improper tires.

• Jensen Clifford Hovarth — two counts of aggravated battery and obstruction of an officer.

For Nelson’s courtroom C, the following, in no particular order, are expected to be heard:

• Dustin James Brookshire — rape and burglary.

• Jesse William Baker — illegal substances within 1,000 feet of a park, sale of marijuana influencing a witness and terroristic threats.

• Christi Kay Bame — simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

• Brent Lee Mann — possession of methamphetamine.

• Jennifer Leah Mallady — possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of dihydrocodeinone (hydrocodone) with intent to distribute, possession of temazepam with intent to distribute and contempt of superior court.

• Alesha Michelle Bennett — two counts of possession of meth, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and possession of drug-related object.

• Jolanda Ladell Bryant — two counts of sale of meth, possession of meth, possession of drug-related object and possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.

• Paulina Bravo-Rolon — reckless driving and driving without a license.

• Teresa Lynn Barton — driving under the influence less safe drugs and possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.

• Teresa Lynn Barton — driving under the influence less safe drugs, failure to maintain lane and possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.

• Kimberly Dawn Bilodeau — giving false information to a law enforcement officer.

Court will convene Monday at 9 a.m. in both courtrooms.
