Sue Lochridge Cantrell, 70, of 230 State Route 20 Spur S.E., Cartersville, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Cantrell was born in Cartersville on Nov. 10, 1941, daughter of the late John Randolph Lochridge and Gladys Marie Chambers Lochridge. She worked as a book keeper for several companies and was an independent sales consultant for Home Interiors and Gifts for 25 years. She was a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church for more than 52 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and church treasurer. She was a member of Stonecroft Ministries and Christian Women’s Club, where she served as prayer coordinator and past chair. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary and was a supporter of Voice of the Martyrs. She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Lochridge, Fred Lochridge and Bob Lochridge; a sister, Mary Lochridge Mercer and a brother-in-law, C.E. Bailey.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, William E. “Bill” Cantrell; her children, Chaplain (Maj.) Steven E. and Katherine Cantrell, William Brian and Toni Cantrell and Beth C. and Tim Burns; grandchildren, Hope Good, Dustan Cantrell, Sarah Burns, Chris Cantrell, Daniel Cantrell, Melissa Cantrell, Blake Marshall, Todd Alloway, Tyler Gazaway and Noah Gazaway; great-grandchildren, Johnny Rivera, Steven Rivera, Tommy Good, Brett Good, McKenzie Good, Payton Marshall and Nevaeh Alloway; sister, Nan Lou Bailey; brothers, James B. and Mary Lochridge, Charlie and Martha Lochridge and Walter and Sue Lochridge; sisters-in-law, Janie Lochridge and Jeanette Lochridge; brother-in-law, George Mercer; special family, Tracy and Annie Forsyth and their children, Anna, Leah, Joseph and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Bethel Crossroads Baptist with Rev. Charles Garrett, Rev. Raiford Cantrell and Chaplain Steve Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church on Friday at 3 p.m. to lie in state until 4 p.m. There will be a reception at the church following the services.

The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Stonecroft Ministries, Gideons International, or your favorite charity. Pallbearers include Dustan Cantrell, Christopher Cantrell, Daniel Cantrell, Darin Cantrell, Max Good, Blake Marshall, Tyler Gazaway and Dustin Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Christian Women’s Club.
