A high-speed chase down Highway 41 in Cartersville ended Wednesday afternoon with the suspect's capture.

According to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, Rodney Parker of Adairsville possibly was wanted in connection with a theft in progress earlier Wednesday.

The vehicle fled south in the northbound lanes of Highway 41, exited on Highway 20 and followed it to Highway 411 north. The chase reached speeds of 70-plus mph and turned onto Peeples Valley Road before the suspect fled on foot behind the fire station.

He was captured within minutes.

BCSO Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said just before 4 p.m. he had no other information.

The Daily Tribune will follow-up on the story.
