During the investigation, two occupants in the vehicle were discovered to be in possession of two types of “synthetic marijuana” in the forms of “Kush” and “Sky High.” Two pipes also were found. The synthetic drugs were reportedly purchased at convenience stores in Bartow County and possible charges are pending against the stores pending the outcome of a crime lab test of the substances.

dollar store burglary
Fred’s Dollar Store was burglarized Saturday just after 1 a.m. According to an officer’s report, a brown rock was used to shatter the glass door. Video surveillance showed a black male wearing a white shirt and yellowish tan shorts with a checkered pattern and white tennis shoes taking five cartons of Newport cigarettes then fleeing the scene. An identity has not been confirmed for the suspect at this time.
Student’s home and car egged
Sunday morning just after 2 a Cartersville officer arrived at a residence in reference to property damage. The complainant told the officer that she heard something thumping on the house and when she went outside to investigate she noticed that her house and vehicles had been hit with eggs. An expletive was written on the trunk of one of the vehicles and syrup also was poured on the cars. The victim said this is the second time such a thing has happened and the damage was aimed toward her daughter, who attends Cartersville High School. Suspects were not identified in the report.

An officer was dispatched to a fight at the Harley-Davidson dealership Saturday evening. Upon arrival, the officer witnessed two subjects on the ground fighting. One of the subjects was bleeding from a large gash on the right side of his mouth. According to a witness, one of the other men bit a chunk out of the victim’s cheek and ate the flesh. The subject refused to be transported to the hospital and the officer reported that the wound would likely need stitches and could cause deformation. Two of the three males involved were arrested while the third needed medical treatment.

with knife outside home
Early Sunday morning a Cartersville resident walked behind his house to smoke a cigarette when he was attacked by an unknown male with a knife. The victim told a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputy that he had heard a voice coming from behind him and when he turned around a white male wearing blue jeans and a dark shirt was holding a knife. The suspect told the victim to give him everything he had and that he was going to go inside the house. The suspect then cut the victim on the right side of his neck and a brief struggle ensued before the suspect ran away. The man was unable to be found.
