Larry Elden Thomas was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison, with five to serve. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.

Thomas was found guilty June 17 in Bartow County Superior Court on two counts of child molestation and one count of enticing a child. A jury found him not guilty on a false imprisonment charge.

Thomas was accused of committing immoral acts on a female under the age of 14 between Aug. 1 and Oct. 11, 2008, at a Euharlee residence. According to the indictment, Thomas allegedly exposed himself to the girl, placed his genitals on her arm and directed her to touch him inappropriately.

In 2008, Thomas was dating the victim's sister and the two later married. The victim and Thomas resided at the home of the girl's father when the abuse began.

After the acts began, the victim told her father, who testified that he told the girl the accusation was very serious and Thomas could face "a lot of trouble." The girl then retracted her statement out of concern for her sister, according to the victim's testimony. The girl also testified that Thomas had said no one would believe her when she threatened to tell someone what had been happening.

After moving to her mother's, the victim said Thomas, who also had moved to the Euharlee address, again exposed himself. Authorities were called after the incident.

Thomas has been in custody at the Bartow County Jail since the verdict earlier this month. That time will be credited to his five year service.
