Nearly a week after playing probably its worst game of the baseball season, the Adairsville Tigers dominated Chattooga Saturday, winning 12-0 in their third straight victory.

Cody Kremer and Trey Gulledge combined for the shutout.

"[This was] another outstanding outing by Cody Kremer [and] somewhat of a rehab appearance for Trey Gulledge ... who hadn't been on the mound in a while," Adairsville coach Eric Bishop said of his two hurlers.

Kremer pitched five innings, striking out 10 and giving up two hits, while Gulledge pitched a couple of innings with one strikeout and no hits.

Offensively, Brandon Blome went 2-for-5 (double, run) for the Tigers, Michael Gwin 2-for-4 (two RBIs), Cody Beemiller 1-for-3 (two runs), Caleb McCreary 2-for-2 (double, two RBIs, walk, run), Logan Tant (2-for-4, double, three RBIs, run) and Trent Gulledge 1-for-1 (double, two RBIs, run).

"We jumped out early on 'em [against] who I believe is their best pitcher," Bishop said of the Indians' Nathan Schuster. Adairsville scored four runs in the first, a run each in the fourth and fifth and six more in the sixth. "This lineup today did a very good job of handling his breaking pitch and putting some runs on the board."

Adairsville's road win over Chattooga followed Friday's six-run victory against visiting North Murray.

The Tigers scored three runs in the second and led 5-0 after the third before the Mountaineers put up two in the fourth.

Adairsville added two more runs in the fifth to lead 7-2 and with the lead at four runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Tigers added a couple more to provide the final margin.

"We had four errors, and the important thing there was we bounced back, put 'em behind us and got a great pitching performance from Logan Tant. He only gave up one hit in that error-filled fourth inning," Bishop said. "We put a stop to that and added some runs late in the fifth and the sixth. ... We always preach, 'All great teams add runs late in the game.'"

The Tigers coach said his team got big home runs from Tai-Li Martin and McCreary.

"Every home run he's ever hit in his career has come with two strikes," Bishop said of McCreary, a 6-foot-2-inch senior outfielder. He added, "That was Tai-Li's first career home run playing varsity."

"We got different kids stepping up every night. ... It seems like it's somebody different every night," Bishop continued. "Logan Tant had the best performance of his career on the mound."

Tant, a senior, pitched five innings, giving up no earned runs, one hit and two walks while striking out eight. McCreary added two innings of one-hit ball, giving up no earned runs and striking out one on 16 pitches.

Hits for Adairsville came from Blome (2-for-3), McCreary (1-for-4, two-run homer), Trey Gulledge (2-for-4, double, RBI), Martin (1-for-3, three-run homer, walk) and Kyle Adams (1-for-2, RBI).

The Tigers (6-2) travel Tuesday to play Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 p.m.
