Coming off its second shutout loss of the season last Friday, a storm seemed to be brewing Friday as the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes returned to Weinman Stadium for the first time in a month.

Unfortunately for the visiting Gilmer football team, that feeling proved to be spot on as Cartersville delivered another bounce-back win — 31-0 — following a week where it was held scoreless.

In other Bartow County football action, Adairsville remained undefeated with a 47-20 romp over Armuchee; Cass lost 22-0 at Forsyth Central; and Woodland lost 58-20 as Chattahoochee blew by the Wildcats in the second half.
