A man standing outside his home wearing only pants early Tuesday morning told Bartow County deputies his wife locked him out after she attacked him.

According to the report, the complainant told the deputy he was lying in bed when Karen Linn jumped on him and began punching and scratching him. He said he ran outside to call 911, with Linn making threats to kill him and burn the house down.

Linn, who had locked herself in the home and refused to communicate, allowed the deputy inside the house after about 15 minutes. She stated she has been drinking and could not recall the argument. She did, however, admit she might have hit her husband because he called 911.

Linn was arrested and charged with simple battery under the Family Violence Act, at which time she became irate, telling her husband, "I am going to kill you for calling the law on me."

The deputy reported Linn continued to threaten to kill her husband when she returned home from jail. While inside the patrol vehicle, Linn continued to scream profanities and threats until she arrived at the jail.

Unauthorized gas usage at vacant home

Cartersville Gas Department is looking into how a vacant home used $604 worth of gas. A Bartow County deputy was dispatched on Tuesday afternoon to 212 Sugar Valley Road to meet with an employee of the gas company.

The complainant said the gas had been cut off between the house and meter. The complainant also said the lock on the meter had been tampered with to turn the gas back on without the company's permission.
