Diana Wimpy finished with 19 home runs during her Lady Wildcats’ career — including 12 in 2010 — and will be trying for another home run derby title after winning one prior to last November’s Georgia Dugout Club Fastpitch All-State Game in Macon.
Wimpy, who hit .577 with 49 RBIs last season, is on the North all-star team, which will take on the South all-star team in a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alto Park.
Joining Wimpy on the North team are Jessica Neidigh, Brookwood; Chelsie Thomas, Buford; Karly Fullem, Buford; Natalie Rhodes, Cherokee; Paige Sexton, Creekview; Fran Johnson, First Presbyterian; Holli Brooks, Gordon Lee; Kelsey Mericka, Kell; Monica Vickery, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe; Haley Peeples, Madison County; Alex McDavid, North Gwinnett; Haley Thompson, Prince Avenue Christian; Kylie Kleinschmidt, Providence Christian; and Stephanie Satterfield, White County.
South team members include Bobbie Jo Royals, Berrien; Adele Harrison, Dodge County; Liz Kelligan, Greenbrier; Savanah Coon, Greenbrier; Kaylee Wynn, Irwin County; Kristin Carr, Jones County; Mikayla Sparks, Jones County; Brittany Britt, Lowndes; Molly Garmany, Newnan; Taylor Turner, Savannah Christian; Alexis Mercer, South Effingham; Savannah Sloan, Taylor County; Hannah Wilson, Thomson; Mallory Riner, West Laurens; and Kaitlyn Johnson, Whitewater.
