A Bartow County deputy responded to Maple Ridge Apartments Tuesday afternoon in reference to a theft by taking complaint.
The complainant said she was getting multiple prescriptions filled after back surgery when an unknown man offered to take her home. Once there, the complainant laid her prescriptions on the kitchen table. The suspect picked up the prescriptions and fled from the residence.
She described the suspect as a bald white male, driving a two-door black car. The complainant told the officer she needed a police report to give to her doctor so the prescription could be refilled.
Drunk driver wrecks motorcycle
A motorist was arrested Tuesday evening after wrecking his motorcycle near Old Mill Road.
A Cartersville police officer patrolling the area noticed several citizens attempting to assist the suspect off the ground and pick up his motorcycle. The suspect was unable to stand; citizens told the officer they could smell alcohol on the man.
The officer retrieved a loaded handgun and knife from the suspect's vest. A bag containing unopened liquor was found inside a saddlebag of the motorcycle.
The suspect, who refused a field sobriety test, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Vehicle window damaged by corn on cob
A woman driving on Grassdale Road Tuesday afternoon got a surprise when a piece of corn on the cob struck her vehicle. The woman told a Cartersville officer she did not know where the corn came from, but the impact shattered the windshield.
A witness told the officer he saw the corn go airborne and strike the woman's car. He also didn't know where the corn came from.
Redbox machine damaged
A Cartersville police officer responded to a call from the CVS, 13 N. Tennessee St., in reference to a damaged Redbox machine. The complainant said the touch screen part of the machine was damaged and not working properly. The officer observed a spider-web effect on the screen. Damages totaled about $750, according to the complainant.
