A Woodland High School student on Tuesday was arrested by campus police and charged with carrying a deadly weapon to school and carrying a concealed weapon. Bartow County School System Police Chief Dan Knowles said multiple were found on 19-year-old Taylor Lee Woods.
“As far as the incident itself goes, there were no threats or altercations or anything like that,” Knowles said. “The administration got some information that she had some contraband items and when they checked her they ended up finding four knives.”
He said a student discipline hearing will be held to determine whether the student will be able to stay in school and that campus police always take information regarding a student carrying contraband seriously.
“... The administration got some sort of tip that the young lady had some things on her she wasn’t supposed to have at school,” Knowles said. “If there’s an illegal tie to [the information we receive], certainly [we take it seriously].”
