Woodland’s Military Appreciation Day tournament will feature three baseball teams — Cass, Pepperell and Woodland — playing three games at the Woodland baseball field.
Pepperell and Woodland kick off the day at 11 a.m. while Cass takes on Pepperell at 2 p.m. and Cass tangles with Woodland at 5:30 p.m.
Corey Gochee, Woodland coach, said there is no charge to the games for military personnel, current and former.
“We did it last year and it gave us a chance to recognize the military — both current and former servicemen and women,” he said.
He said proceeds from the games also will be given to a group involved with helping soldiers.
“We plan to donate the gate to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that helps soldiers who were wounded during their service,” he said. “They help soldiers who maybe lost their limbs and are adjusting to prosthetics or in the transition to civilian life.”
His goal is simple.
