Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of perseverance, Kayla Dionne Washington is looking forward to encouraging Bartow’s youth during this year’s King Holiday Weekend celebration.

Mike Jones, a 31-year employee of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, was named Adairsville police chief by the Adairsville City Council Monday.

Body found in righthand lane of I-75

Law enforcement personnel from the Emerson Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation search the northbound shoulder of Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 282 for clues and evidence pertaining to the discovery of a body found there Wednesday morning.
A man was found dead Wednesday morning in the righthand lane of Interstate-75 northbound between mile marker 282 and exit 283.
