Betty Jean Gravitt, 86, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday morning, September 4, 2018, at Townsend Park Health and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Gravitt was born in Calhoun, Georgia, daughter of the late A.R. Dobson and Annie Laura Dobson. She was retired from Lockheed in Marietta, Ga., and Rich’s Department Stores. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.R. Dobson and Annie Laura Dobson; her husband, Jerry Gravitt; a son, Richard Cochran; a grandson, Russell Cochran.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Gravitt Rooney and husband Steve; grandchildren, Emma Rooney, Katelin Cummings and husband Zac, Noah Rooney, Ryan Cochran; a sister, Willene Squires and husband Lamar; an uncle, John Davis; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a local dog shelter or humane society in Betty’s name.
