Big Chicken Chorus will be delivering Singing Valentines


Continuing to bring “joy” to lovebirds in the Cartersville area, members of the Big Chicken Chorus will deliver Singing Valentines Feb. 12, 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Along with a red rose and a personalized card, a valentine package will include 10 to 12 vocalists singing three old-fashioned barbershop love songs a cappella in four-part harmony.Among the vocalists will be five residents of Bartow County: Bill Devine, Alan Bowen, Dave Elvers, Don Jackson and Mac McKenzie.“This will be the sixth year,” Devine said. “Most of our valentines are delivered to place of employment, but we also frequently sing at restaurants, restaurant bars and senior care facilities. We have sung at the Booth Western [Art] Museum.“... We get enjoyment singing at all these places, but we probably get the most enjoyment singing for our senior citizens, primarily due to they are so appreciative when we sing there. Certainly, the people [we sing to] are extremely surprised. It brings happiness, joy. In some cases it brings tears, but those are good tears.”The cost for Singing Valentines will start at $50 for a three-hour window for delivery and increases to $70 and $90 for two-hour and one-hour delivery windows, respectively.
