A Cartersville woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly throwing a glass of beer at her sister-in-law and hitting a child in a stroller.
According to jail records, Christian Joy Shullaw has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children and simple battery-family violence.
According to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office report, the two sister-in-laws were at a family cookout when they began to argue and throw beer at each other. Shullaw then threw a glass at her sister-in-law but missed and hit the woman's daughter.
Shullaw said she did not intend to throw the glass at her sister-in-law or hit the child.
Deputies saw small cuts on the child's forehead, shoulder, stomach and finger. EMS arrived, but the child was not taken to the hospital.
A deputy took the broken glass in the child's stroller into evidence.
