Cass High product Sierrah Gani wrapped up her time with the Georgia Highlands softball team weeks ago, but the standout infielder continues to reap the rewards of a stellar senior season.
Gani landed a spot on the NJCAA all-South Region second team, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Tuesday.
The recent GHC graduate, who will continue her academic — but not athletic — career at Kennesaw State, previously earned first-team selection to the Georgia College Athletic Association all-region squad, as well as an all-academic team nod.
According to updated stats on GHC's website, the second baseman slashed .463/.500/.626. She added 42 RBIs, while playing in all 44 games. Gani walked six times against just five strikeouts. Her two triples led the team, and her 13 doubles were good enough for third on the Chargers.
