A pursuit Wednesday ended with a crash, leading to the recovery of drugs and a weapon.Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force agents were conducting a drug and fugitive operation in the southwest corner of Bartow County that led to the chase, according to DTF Capt. Mark Mayton.“The intelligence we had and information indicated the suspect we were looking for — Christopher Danner — would flee law enforcement and was possibly armed,” he said.Because of the operation’s location off Black Acre Trail, Georgia State Patrol was called in to assist.Mayton said officers made contact with Danner at the location and he fled in a silver four-door sedan. Contact was made between a GSP vehicle and Danner’s car, with Danner eventually crashing into a business at the intersection of Groovers Landing Road and Highway 293.During the course of the chase, shots were fired, but no one was injured. “That remains under investigation,” Mayton said.“As a result of the stop, we recovered suspected meth and a handgun,” Mayton said.Danner was wanted on warrants for possession of meth, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony theft by receiving, felony theft by deception, with additional charges pending from Wednesday’s series of events. He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Bartow County Jail.
