Emily Ann Chalmers Howell, age 32, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Emily was born on January 22, 1986, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. She was the treasured wife and best friend of Joseph Brent Howell of Dallas; beloved daughter of Murray and Suzanne Chalmers; loving sister to her brothers Billy Chalmers (Beverly) and Michael Chalmers (Kim); cherished aunt to her nieces, Mackenzie Chalmers and Carson Chalmers and nephew, Adam Chalmers. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myrtice and Otis Chalmers and Frances and James Tidwell.
Emily graduated from North Cobb Christian High School, in Kennesaw, Georgia. She attended Berry College and graduated from Kennesaw State University with her undergraduate degree. She continued her education and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Reinhardt University with a goal to complete her Specialist degree in the future. She fulfilled her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher when she was hired at Ronald W. Russom Elementary School, where she was a 4th grade teacher to her “precious kiddos,” as she called them. Emily lived a short but full life. Her students were her first priority; however, in her free time, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, watching her Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons, traveling to Ormond Beach, taking cruises, spending time with family, friends and her boxer, Bailey.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 21st, from 6-9pm at the Chapel of Kennesaw First Baptist Church located at 2958 North Main Street, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd, at 11:00 am at the Gathering Center at Kennesaw First Baptist Church with Rev. Perry Fowler officiating. Interment to follow at Pineridge Memorial Park.
