Mr. Felix Jackson “Jack” Thacker, age 81, of Adairsville, GA, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Gordon County, GA, on July 22, 1937, to the late Felix Jackson Thacker, Sr. and Fannie Elizabeth Wilson Thacker (known as “Granny Fannie”). He was retired from Southeastern Freight Lines. He loved horses, wagons, dogs and was always ready for a wagon train, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with grandkids and great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Thacker, and a sister, Carolyn Thacker.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Thacker, of Adairsville; a daughter, Janet (Lee) Fletcher of Adairsville, 3 sons, Jeff (Tracy) Thacker of Adairsville, Jamie (Michelle) Thacker of Centre, AL, and Jarrod Thacker of Adairsville; a brother, Michael (Tammy) Thacker of Crossville, TN; 8 grandchildren, Heath Garlin, Heather King, Jacob Key, Gage Thacker, Ramie Thacker, Jaden Thacker, Jaylene Thacker, Kash Thacker and Allie Thacker; 5 great-grandchildren; Trystan King, Teagan King, Taylor King, Savanna Garlin, and Huck Garlin, step grandsons, Brandon Biddy, Joey Biddy, Will Fletcher, and Ben Fletcher; a special friend, W. C. Burns of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton FuneraL Home with Rev. Jim Pinkard and Minister Kevin Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Heath Garlin, Jacob Key, Gage Thacker, Jaden Thacker, Trystan King, Teagan King, Ben Fletcher and Wes Thacker.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
