Homes for Heroes kicks off in Bartow


Through the Homes for Heroes program, “home-town heroes” will be able to purchase or sell their residences at reduced costs.According to a news release, “Homes for Heroes is celebrating its 13th year of bringing big savings to everyday heroes. Inspired by the home-town heroes who serve and protect their communities and our country, a partnership of Realtors, mortgage lenders, title companies, and other affiliated service providers created Homes for Heroes, Incorporated. This collaboration of real estate professionals’ sole purpose is to offer savings when buying or selling a home.“Homes for Heroes is proud to announce their newest market affiliates. Steve Rogers with Crye-Leike Realty, Shawn Greenway with Guild Mortgage and Christina Jenkins Attorney at Law. We are excited to bring this program to our local Heroes. Additionally, there will be local businesses that will have an opportunity to team up with Homes for Heroes through the Friends of Heroes® Program and will agree to provide further discounts to [the] community.”Having served his country and community in various public safety capacities, Rogers was excited to become an affiliate Realtor for this program.“I wanted to be involved in this program because it is important to me to give back to those who serve this country,” Rogers said. “As a retired veteran, I have served my country in both the Air Force and Army, my community as a volunteer firefighter and as a Department of Defense civilian employee. I know the sacrifice of those who serve and find it a priority to say thank you to those [who serve] ... by helping them realize their dreams of owning their own home.“The purpose of this program is to assist with a purchase of a home those who have served their communities and country. Those who qualify are police officers, firemen, medical personnel, educators, military personnel and veterans.
